Today there are over 5,000 U.S.-born youth in Tijuana public schools, 80% of whom are children of a deported parent. These American youth face many unique challenges including the need to master the Spanish language to succeed in school in Mexico. Your gift will support a critical educational enrichment program launched last year by Fundacion Proteccion de la Ninez, benefiting 32 students from Tijuana's Francisco Villa School, and will support the program's expansion to benefit another 20 U.S.-born youth now living in a nearby community.
